The Forearms

Build the forearms up about 3.5 cm (1.5 inch) off the arm. The forearms are wide, wide enough to put your hand through!

The forearm ridge is 3 cm wide.

The inset details in the ridge are about 1.5 cm Wide (3/4 inch), 2 cm long (1 inch) and 1 cm apart (1/8 inch). How deep the details recess into the ridge is up to you.

I highly recommend you to do the clay sculpting all at one time. This way you can make accurate judgments on how the costume will look when it's together. If you are forced into sculpting the pieces piece by piece then please take care into remembering how large the other pieces looked when you sculpted them. I've noticed that things can go astray with the sizing when done in the low budget way. It's just tough to size things up by memory.

The human arm is a fairly curved piece. In the refernce photos you will notice that the forearm armor was contured to the natural curve of the human forearm. You might have thought it was a straight piece of armor ... but always reference your photos to be sure.

HAND GUARD

The HAND GUARD that goes on the back of the glove is about 8 cm x 8 cm (3.25 x 3.25 inches) wide. Add in the ridged detail as needed.

stormt_handguard01 Notice that the ESB and ROTJ handguards were differnt than the ANH hand guards. These different hand guard designs were used on the snowtrooper costumes also.
